Eventually all things fall into place. Until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moments, and know that everything happens for a reason.
- Favourite streamed TV series throughout lockdown and why
I had quite a few- Succession, Yellowstone, Mr Inbetween but the one I most enjoyed was watching the Marvel series in timeline order.
- Plans over the Christmas break (now that we’re “free”)
I’m currently in Fiji enjoying a much-needed escape from what has felt like Groundhog Day over the past 2 years. We’ll be back in time for Christmas with the family, NY with friends on the water and, should the sun allow, as much beach time as possible throughout January.
- What I’ll be reading or listening to over the holidays
I’ve just started ‘Shoe Dog’ by Phil Knight, the memoir by the creator of Nike.

From the investment markets, “Don’t fight the Fed”. It’s as true as it ever was. Central banks around the world set the price of money and woe betide investors who ignore what they’re saying.
For myself, I finally realised I enjoy myself more when I stay in the moment! I’m not too good at it, I tend to dwell on the future, not much on the past or the present. This year I listened to my wife a bit more, she’s much more in the moment. I also read “The Power of Now”.
- Favourite streamed TV series throughout lockdown and why
“Call my agent” which is about the ups and downs of a talent agency in Paris. Pure escapism, nicely flawed characters and dreamy scenes of Paris at its best.
- Plans over the Christmas holidays – now that we’re free
Bike riding, swimming and surfing in as many different places as possible. Both “the missus” and I have electric bikes and I need to get organised with heavy duty car racks for out-of-town expeditions.
- What I’ll be reading or listening to over the holidays
Don’t know yet. Anyone have any podcast recommendations on eminent people and human ingenuity?

You only live once and health takes on many forms. So, look after your mind, body and spirit – they are mutually inclusive!
- Favourite streamed TV series throughout lockdown and why
The English Game – having played football for most of my life, the 19th century drama of the history of football was a no brainer
Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games – may mot have been typical a streaming series, but even without the crowds who could miss the drama of sport, particularly when Australia performed so well
Yellowstone – modern Western against the great backdrop of Montana. It has everything.
Drive to Survive – I love watching Formula 1, so the behind the scenes machinations was riveting
- Plans over the Christmas holidays – now that we’re free
Enjoy the beauty of the Northern Beaches; our swimming pool if I can remove the algae from the continual rain; and continue my return to fitness for competitive athletics.
- What I’ll be reading or listening to over the holidays
‘Sapiens – A History of Humankind’
‘That will Never work’ The story of Netflix

- Biggest lesson/ take away from 2021
Reflecting on all the media hype and hyperbole around the pandemic and the doomsday predictions which come to nought but newspaper sales, I continue to back human nature. Carry on!
- Favourite streamed TV series throughout lockdown and why
When I can oust the children from streaming service, there here have been a few. “Only murders in the building” on Disney, “The shrink next door” on Apple and “Ozark” on Netfllix. If I’m watching with my son, anything Marvel. If it’s with my daughter “My little pony“ still rates highly right alongside anything related to “Frozen”.
- Plans over the Christmas holidays – now that we’re free
The usual. Head north, sun, sand, surf. Pool, bad golf, worse tennis. A great deal of cricket. Did I mention cricket? If it’s raining, probably board games and puzzles with my daughter who will need to be entertained.
- What I’ll be reading or listening to over the holidays
The intent is to read something that will improve me but in the end I just want to switch off with some piece of well written fiction.
